So here's my test with Sammi - would you believe that this is her first photoshoot ever? She's kind of incredible, adore her pin straight ginger locks and cherubic face. This shoot was kind of hilarious, I was hold a reflector in my teeth for the most part - I'm still using only natural light.
I'm shooting tests all the time and the key difference between shooting a test and just doing a shoot for creative purposes in that the key focus of the test is to get the most from the model, always choosing the shot where the expression and pose is the most flattering. The aesthetic doesn't necessarily need to be consistent. The below images are from one of the first test shots when I started modelling with photographer Nicole Bentley, who at the time was just starting out with her career and is now shooting for Vogue Australia doing incredible things. A few of them are slightly stretched somehow and my expression is a bit confused. Probably an indicator of how I had absolutely no clue, the pics are around 6 years old. I found these attached to an old hotmail account, such a blast from the past. Now it'd be a dream for me to assist Nicole - how much can things change!?
Meet the incredibly beautiful Yasmin (chic) who came to visit me to discuss the in's and out's of the blog world and I managed to coerce into taking some shots with me. Love her incredible bone structure and fantastic brows! Not to mention those incredible locks (jealous...).
Yasmin runs a spunky new vegan food blog featuring delicious recipes, profiles of fellow vegans, informative articles about animal protection plus loads more. Check it out at My Purple Grape!! Even if you aren't a vegan/vegetarian I'm sure that you'll learn something cool.

Yesterdays outfit - nothing more simple than a white shirt and denim shorts. Not just any white shirt though, a slouchy linen number I picked up at an op shop for about 10 bucks. The most perfect thing about it is that it isn't perfect. I wear the buttons misaligned for a bit of assymetry and it creases in odd places. I guess it suits my personality. Perfect for super hot days. I'm in Queensland at the moment for a wedding - the absolute best kind of celebration, and the first time I've had a proper visit to the tropical state. So great to get out of the city... well so says the country lass inside me.

So This past week I had the esteemed pleasure of meeting the delightful Garance Dore. She graciously took time out from her busy schedule so I could interview her for my blog! Its going to take some time for me to write up everything we spoke about in a concise and comprehensive manner (I ain't no journo) so once I get back from my weekend away with my man - I'll hop to it. I was so nervous about meeting her and coming up with intelligent questions to speak about it, I'm sure she thought I had a stutter...
I'm also working on a special project with Garance but I not sure if I should spill on that just yet - think you can just wait and see. ;)
So, coming soon, my interview with Garance Dore!
So whats this? An outfit post! The planets have aligned and I have found a moment to feature yours truly, snapped by my dearest love in the sparkling light of our backyard. Wearing an old faithful fashion staple - the striped tee.
I'm so busting with creative energy right now - summer has arrived and I'm headed to Western Australia over Christmas and New Year for a much needed break from the rain and the city. I had the esteemed pleasure of meeting the delightful Garance Dore which has left me with re-newed vigour in respect to tapping out more details of my life on the blog. I had the idea for sometime that it wasn't so interesting for all of you to hear about the daily details of my life but have come to realise that I'm sacrificing the personality of my blog - so I'm back! Revelling in warm weather glory, getting fit for summer and pumped to take some glorious images in sparkling sunsets over the coming weeks.
The festive season always brings my mood up. Seasons Greetings all!

One of my favourite photographers lately is David Bellemere, a master of the female silhouette and natural (almost) lighting. Not since Peter Lindbergh have I seen a photographer create such a dramatic mood while still maintaining an original and beautiful style. David is a true artist.
Check out his work for Italian Marie Claire here.
Nothing like perusing his work to inspire me to think creatively.
